The archaeology at South Bohemian castles of the Lords of the Rose

The aim of the following thesis is to introduce the evolution of the medieval castle architecture in Europe, primarily in Bohemia. The main attention is focused on the South Bohemian district, the powerful noble stock Vítkovci and some of their residence castles. This thesis brings the basic overwiev of the family history and the construction development. The special emphasis is on an archaeological researches and their contribution to the observation of the construction development by the selected ancient monuments.
The beginning of the castle Český Krumlov - the castle as a symbol of power and aspect of cultural transfer

This work deals with beginning of the castle Český Krumlov. It takes South Bohemia area as the area of cultural influences, which overlaped itself (Bavaria, Bohemia, Austria) and simultaneously as a scene of colonizational proceses. They were discharged namely by Vítek's genus. In this place, we have to remember a network of Vítek's family bindings which had an influence to cultural transfer, which bounced at level of power means ? we can talk about constitution and presentation of Vítek's genus and his clannish background, it means a genesis of settlemental town and castle. The castle was taken as a symbol of power, but also as an intersection of potential interdisciplinary approach, which uses limited possibilities of historical and archeological research and simultaneously uses new interpretative and datative possibilities. The aim of this work is an attempt to classify the castle Český Krumlov to the absolute chronology and to bring a contribution to discussion about its ancient history.
